Mint Jubilee

I was so excited to try and see how well my new Elf cool color palette would come out. It has so many bright fun colors to use and I just couldn't wait to use it. It has been so long since Ive actually played with color. School took up so much of my time that by the end of the year I was wearing little to no make up everyday. But now it's the last summer before I start college so it's time to have some fun!!

I was really excited when I found out the new ELF palette has great mint color. So with the hint of green I got from the mint color I decided to go for a full on light pastel green eye. And this is what we came up with.

Face:
Revlon Photo Ready Foundation
Benefits Boi-ing concealer
Revlon Photo Ready Powder

Eyes:
Elf Eyeshadow Primer
Elf Cool Palette *colors starred*
Wet N' Wild Cream Eyeliner
Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara

Eyebrows:
Inglot Eyeshadow #329

Lips:
Rosebud Salve

As much as I like how this turned out, I was so sad and disappointed at the mint color I was so excited for. It was so chalky that when I went in to blend the other colors the color would completely fall of. At the end I just went in with my finger and placed it on my lid to make it look at bit brighter. I did it at the end so I didn't have to deal with blending the other colors out. Overall the palette has done a good job standing up for itself considering its only a five dollar palette.

  1. this look is really pretty on you, i love anything mint :) but i do agree that sometimes the cheaper palettes have colors that are just too chalky when you put them on your eyelids. cute blog btw, i'm a new follower :)
