Blue Brown Smokey Eye

Have you ever gone so long hearing how amazing a product is , but never actually getting up and buying it, only to realize the hype was soooooooo true! Yeah, I came to that realization while filming this look! I used mostly MAC products for my eyes, you know my tried and true shadows that I use on an everyday basis,  but today I also used the ever so famous Blue Brown pigment for the first time. And OH MY GOD!! I am in love! It's such a gorgeous color, no wonder it's so popular!!

I am so in love with this look, and I hope you are too!! I can't wait to find different ways to use this
pigment!!

It seems as though fall weather has hit Connecticut a bit early this year. Even though it's been a lot cooler the leaves have yet to turn color. That's exactly what inspired this look today!! I created the tiniest bit of a cut crease effect, and just used the most fall like red that I could find!! So, I hope you guys enjoy this look!

Hello Dolls! Last months craziness ended up not only  putting me behind schedule but also Vanessa, the owner and creator of Glamour Doll Eyes. Her schedule ended up so crazy and chaotic that she put the Insider Program on hold and gave us a month long break from creating looks. It was a nice break last month since everything was so hectic, for what appears to have been a lot of people,  but once I received this months package I was so ready to dive right in and create new looks using all Glamour Doll Eyes pigments!

I ended up doing a look with what have been my go to colors lately, red and burnt orange. Only this time I ended up glitzing and smoking it up with a metallic red all over the eyelid and some black pigment!!

FOTD: Hay Foxxie

Hello Dolls!! What two looks in a row in less than a week?! Whhaaat?!

It's been a while since I got to play with makeup as much as I have been these past couple of days! About four days ago I received Glamour Doll Eyes new Instagram collection in the mail and fell in love with the colors!

 I decided to go with a different color combination than I normally would use. I used burnt orange, and burgundy colors in the crease and lower lash line and a bright cyan blue all over the eyelid!

Hello Dolls! I can not believe it has been a month since I last posted on here! Work has been kicking my ass and I finally have a decent break for the next four days!! I haven't done anything but winged liner and mascara for the past month so I really wanted to have something dramatic going on! You guys have no idea how good it feels to have all of this makeup on for the first time in a month!

I kept it really warm and smoky using all MAC shadows and one of the new pressed pigments. I broke open my new Urban Decay Lipstick for this look as well! I just went all out with boldness in my eyes and lips! 

It's gonna take a bit to get used to writing posts again so, I'm sorry for the rambling, and I hope you enjoy the look!

FOTD: Mod Eyes Inspired my MSTRUEHAPPINESS

Hello Dolls! I confess, that I am an instagram addict. Yesterday I was roaming around instagram looking at makeup looks from random users when I came across a beautiful baby blue cut crease done by the fantastic MSTRUEHAPPINESS! I fell in love with it instantly and knew I had to recreate it on myself!

She only used to shadows to come up with her look, but since I only owned the blue shade I ended up using around five shades! She also did more of a winged out shape, but I kept mine a bit more circular to fit my eye shape a bit better!

FOTD: Born of Illusion

Hello Dolls! Today I have a look for you featuring all three of the shadows in the new Glamour Doll Eyes "Born of Illusion" collection. I created a sultry smoky eye using all three colors and three MAC eyeshadows as well. I'm loving this collection so far. Teri Brown, the author of "Born of Illusion" was also kind enough to send me a copy of the book before it is released in June and I must say it's so good. The story is so intriguing and has me hooked.

This look is somewhat based on the book. I created this sultry smoky eye based on the book and the darkness and mystery around the entire story as well as the main character.

Review and Swatches: MAC Banafsaji Art of the Eye Eyeshadow

Hello Dolls! Today I have a short review for you highlighting one of the eyeshadows in MAC's new Art of the Eye collection. Where most of the collection is simple, bright colors Banafsaji was the most unique and special colors in the collection! So, it was the only one I purchased to review for you guys. Check out the MAC website to see the other shadows and the entire collection. 

Packaging:

Banafsaji comes in the common MAC packaging. It is wrapped in a small "cardboard" box that have the details of the products. The box contains the ingredients, name of the shadows, and type of the shadow. This shadow comes in an actual pot. I usually end up depotting my MAC shadows since they end up being overly bulky after collection a good amount. And that can just go to the Back To MAC program.

FOTD: Bulletpoof!

Hello Dolls! I saw a look like this on Beautylish  couple of weeks back. That look was done using Urban Decays Chaos, a bright almost neon royal blue, sadly this shadow was a limited edition color. And sadly for me I never got my greedy little hands on that color, but last week I got a package from Concrete Minerals. In that package came a color very very similar to Chaos!! I decided to recreate the look using the products I had in hand and came out with this. 

-I tried out a new foundation while doing this look an completely hated it when I was photographing my look!! So, please excuse if my foundation inst up to par and washes me out a bit-

First Impressions: MAC Archie's Girl Collection Lipsticks

Hello Dolls! As you may all have heard last week MAC released it's long anticipated Archie's Girls Spring Collection. Every since I was a young girl I've been a fan of the Archie comics and I couldn't pass on this collection at all. I managed to get my hands of five of the six lipsticks in the collection. 

This collection was divided in two, since the makeup was based off of Betty and Veronica, there where equal amounts of lipstick for both. Half of the collection consisted of more natural, day time colors and the other half of more night time, dark and bright colors.

Since I only picked up the lipstick I am going to swatch these for you, and since I only recieved them yesterday I wont be doing a full review, only first impressions. 

*This collection has already been released online, but it will be released at all MAC locations on Febuary 7th. This collection is limited edition.*

Packaging:

 Like all MAC limited edition collections the packages for these product have a little something special. And that little something special is that the packages are completely redone. The outer packaging is a white box, in change of the regular black, with the Archie's Girls logo. It pictures Betty, Archie and Veronica with the mac logo underneath, all of which are surrounded by little red hearts. Perfect for valentines day. 

The actual lipstick packaging is just as cute. The lipstick still comes in the bullet tube but the tube is also white, with a gloss finish. The MAC logo is placed on the lid, in the bottom portion of the lid it has the picture of either Veronica or Betty. This corresponds with the lipstick color and who it represents. 

I am absolutely a sucker for cute packaging and MAC went all out for this collection.   

FOTD: Superbowl Sunday

Hello Dolls!! So today the Baltimore Ravens and the San Fran 49 went head to head in the Superbowl.   Now, personally I am not a football fan, I'm more of a baseball girl, but considering a lot of people where showing team spirit and at the request of my boyfriend I decided to do something different. I had just received MAC's Blue Lipmix I went for it and completely fell in love with it. This also gave me a chance to give this product a run for its money and give me a chance to review it thoroughly. The review will be up in a day or so. 

Review: MAC Candy Yum Yum

Hello Dolls! By now a lot of you have probably heard a lot of people talking about MAC's Candy Yum Yum Lipstick. This lipstick came out with an old collection and gained a huge fan base, so much so that when put up agaisnt other limited edition lipstick the public voted it to become permanent. I had heard of this lipstickf from many bloggers and vloggers but never really gave it much though. Falling into the bandwagon I went to order it last month but it was sold out. Everywhere!!! Finally it was back in stock and I picked it up.

Packaging:

 The packaging for this lipstick is just like every other MAC Lipstick/Product. It comes in black box that feels like a combination of cardstock and cardstock embossed with white script. There is nothing special about this packaging. Unlike the pro eyeshadow packaging there is absolutely nothing I don't like about this packaging. It's sturdy and if anything does happen to the package nothing will happen to the actual product.

Product:
Candy Yum Yum is described on the MAC website as a neon pink. While this it is a bright pink I wouldn't necessarily call it "neon". This is a matte lipstick, but with almost a satin finish. It isn't drying at all. In the tube it looks more like a bright hot pink, but when swatched it comes out more of a brightt baby pink. It comes out opaque at the first swipe but is still buildable to brighter more opaque consistency.

Review: MAC's Powder Blush in Burnt Pepper

Hello Dolls!! Today I bring you my second review of the new year. I'll be reviewing MAC's Powder Blush in Burnt Pepper. Recently I've been on a big MAC kick and since none of their eye products ever seem to grab my attention I thought I'd try my hand at some of their face products. Burnt Pepper is only the second blush I ever buy from MAC. This is a Pro Palette Refill Pan so it is cheaper than the one that comes in the compact.

At $17 you receive 6g/.21 oz. Which to me is a great deal since I don't really go through blushes that fast. 

Packaging:

The MAC Pro Palette Refills come in a small envelope type package. Made out of what feels like a combination of card stock and cardboard. It has the specifics of the product written on the outside (name of product, weight, etc.) I personally do not like this packaging. Not because of the material it is made out of but because of the hole in the middle of the packaging. I would be ok with this if the hole was covered by clear plastic or something, but since there is nothing to protect the product it makes it overly easy for something to damage your product. 

FOTD: New To Town

Hello Dolls! For the first time in what seems like a month I decided to do my makeup all out. It's my first full day in Connecticut and since I'm going out with some friends tonight I decided to do something a little dark so I ended up with a "sandwich" smokey eye meaning one color on the inner and outer lid and another in the centre.  I used all Glamour Doll Eyes for this eye look. 

Wet N' Wild 8 Pan Palette Collection & Dupes

Wet N' Wild was never a brand that I ever reached for at the drugstore. But after receiving one of these pans as a gift I fell in love with this brand. For a drugstore brand Wet N' Wild has an amazing range of shadows and lipsticks!! The pigmentation in these shadows is comparable with high end brands, and the price for the palettes is unbelievable at only $4.99 for an 8 pan eyeshadow palette. 

Today I will be swatching and listing dupes held in the Wet N' Wild 8 pan palettes. 

Comfort Zone Palette
I like to call this the forrest palette. The colors in this palette are very nature inspired. There are no mattes in this palette, they are all shimmer which is a con for me. They are very very pigmented they are also very creamy and soft which could be a pro or con.
(I had horrible luck with this my palette fell right before I began snapping pictures, and my finger slipped as I tried to open it)

Review: Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo by Eyestudio

Funny story; In the morning I headed to CVS to go see the doctor at the clinic there and decided to walk around the store are I waited. And I walked right by these babies as they where putting them on the shelf. I was intrigued to to say the least, so I decided to purchase three colours on a whim. 

The Color Tattoo is basically a cream eyeshadow, but it's consistency reminds me of a gel liner. They also remind me a bit of Mac's paint pots. They come in about 10 different colours ranging from neutral browns, taupes, black, to red, green, gold and orange (yes, orange). 

At my local CVS they where 6.99 each, and you're paying for .14oz of product. compared to the 17.50 you would pay for .17 oz for a Paint Pot. You do get the ounces more product in the paint pot, but you'd have to pay 10 more dollars for that. 

The basic concept of the cream shadows is that they will be last 24 hours without budging or losing it's vibrancy. No offense, but with the bad rap that Maybelline has had with their past cream shadows I was a bit scared to go ahead and purchase them, but I decided to give them a chance. 

20 Painted Purple

Unlike in the pictures this is a very vibrant purple with small, and I mean small magenta shimmers.
