FOTD: Hay Foxxie

Hello Dolls!! What two looks in a row in less than a week?! Whhaaat?!

It's been a while since I got to play with makeup as much as I have been these past couple of days! About four days ago I received Glamour Doll Eyes new Instagram collection in the mail and fell in love with the colors!

 I decided to go with a different color combination than I normally would use. I used burnt orange, and burgundy colors in the crease and lower lash line and a bright cyan blue all over the eyelid!

FOTD: Mod Eyes Inspired my MSTRUEHAPPINESS

Hello Dolls! I confess, that I am an instagram addict. Yesterday I was roaming around instagram looking at makeup looks from random users when I came across a beautiful baby blue cut crease done by the fantastic MSTRUEHAPPINESS! I fell in love with it instantly and knew I had to recreate it on myself!

She only used to shadows to come up with her look, but since I only owned the blue shade I ended up using around five shades! She also did more of a winged out shape, but I kept mine a bit more circular to fit my eye shape a bit better!

FOTD: Jailbreak Vigilante

Hello Dolls. Today I bring you the third look using all Glamour Doll Eyes! I was a kinda lost on what to do today so I just ended up playing with my shadows. I ended up with this really subtle smokey eye using the blue, rose gold and silver shadows I received. It was son hard to take a picture of this look since I made the look so soft, but I hope I got decent enough pictures.

Review: MAC Lip Mix in Blue

Hello Dolls! Like I promised in last night FOTD today I have a review for MAC's Lip Mix. I'm a sucker for crazy lip colors so I was super intrigued when I saw a follower on instagram rocking this shade.

Packaging:

 The packaging for this lipstick is just like every other MAC Lipstick/Product. It comes in black box that feels like a combination of cardboardand card stock embossed with white script. It is very sturdy, and that is especially necessary for a product like this. The product itself is in a plastic squeeze tube, and definitely needs some had exterior to protect it from damage during shipping. 

 

FOTD: Superbowl Sunday

Hello Dolls!! So today the Baltimore Ravens and the San Fran 49 went head to head in the Superbowl.   Now, personally I am not a football fan, I'm more of a baseball girl, but considering a lot of people where showing team spirit and at the request of my boyfriend I decided to do something different. I had just received MAC's Blue Lipmix I went for it and completely fell in love with it. This also gave me a chance to give this product a run for its money and give me a chance to review it thoroughly. The review will be up in a day or so. 

Pastel Gradient Nails

So after a month hiatus of refusing to do my nails I finally decided to do this method of gradient nails. They came out.......ok. 

What you'll need:

Base Coat I used Orly's Bonder 

and a top coat to seal the finished product, I used Orly's In A Snap, my all time favorite top coat. 

Starry Night Nail Art

I've always been a big fan of Vincent Van Gogh especially his Starry Night painting. His art work changed the way people see art, every stroke of his brush different from the other. Van Gogh created a new form of art, using new techniques to create his masterpieces. So when I cam across this tutorial by Cutepolish on youtube I knew that I had to give it a try. 

I know it sounds and looks incredibly difficult to redo Van Gogh's famous painting but it is easy as long as you go slow and give it time. 

Pastel Water-Colored Nails Tutorial

A couple of days ago I ran into this article on Beautylish and got really inspired to try water-colored nails. But was really put off by how complicated it looked. But luckily I ran into this detailed tutorial by the lovely Rebecca explaining step by step how to achieve these lovely nails. I'm happy with how they came out but no so sure whether I love them quite yet.

It's not a hard look to achieve you just need a some good colors.  I achieved this look by using only four different colors counting the base coat you need to make the colors pop. 

Here, I'll give you a mini tutorial on how you achieve the look. 

NOT PICTURED: A small fluffy paint brush *not a nail art brush a paint brush* this is needed to blend out the colors perfectly*
And acetone *needed to blend the colors*

• First apply your favorite base coat, then apply one or two coats of a white nail polish making sure its opaque. 
• Then a layer or a good thick top coat, this is important to do so that the acetone does not destroy your white base while you're blending your colors. 
• Then, after letting the first layer dry completely, apply three small dots of your first color, I chose Pink Friday from OPI, and quickly dip your paint brush into the acetone making sure that the brush isn't soaked but a bit wet begin blending your color covering your entire nail. 
• Repeat this step with the rest of your chosen colors, I used two more, Stripe Rite in yellow and Essie's Coat Azure. Make sure the colors over lap each other but do not completely cover each other. 
• After you've blended the colors to your liking add your top coat and voila you've got water-colored nails. 

I allowed some of the white base to show through my nails, but that's up to preference. 

Also some quick tips;

Work fast or else the polish will dry in chunks. 

Do not drench the brush with acetone or else it won't work like you want it to, but if you accidentally use too much acetone just blow on it and it will dry. 

Don't try to be a perfectionist, like I was, or else you'll mess up your nail and will have to start over, like I did.

I actually took the time took the time to do water marbled nails and this is my first attempt, and I love how they came out. 

Tomorrow I'll be redoing it with different colors and will be posting up a tutorial for you guys. :)

Nails Of The Week: Starry Night

Simple story for this look. I was talking to a lady at work about nail looks and the gradient effect came up. I had new polishes to break in and decided to do this look. Enjoy. 

Nails of The Week: OPI Mermaid Tear with Black Anchor accent nail

This week I got really inspired by nautical stuff, anchors, stripes, and everything in the colour blue. So this is the outcome of this all.
